Reflection

Hey Guys,

How are you? I hope that all is well with you. I am doing well... I have some excellent news that I would like to share with you all. I am sure that you know but I would like to inform you. But, before I address my wonderful news, you all must know that along with the support of my family & friends, my fans mean the world to me. The support you all provide is beyond words. I am very thankful.

I am honored to be selected for The Doha 21st Century Leaders' Award for my humanitarian work outside of tennis. I feel so honored that I can not find the words to express my gratitude. During a time when many people feel there are not many options or weighed down by the state of the economy, I am being honored for my hard work. I am not only a tennis player nor celebrity, I am human & for that reason I understand this thing called life. I have been very fortunate in life which is why I opened a school in Africa. The school is named after me, Serena Williams Secondary School. I am also pleased to inform you all that I will open another school next year.

The key to success in life is education. No matter, what you do in life there will always be education. Education guides everything that we as people do in life. Yes, I am a tennis player on court but off court I have to continue to study the game. Off court, I do not only study nor simply practice; I open my mind & heart in order to educate myself. I thank you all for your continued support. Remember; never give up on your dreams because you never know whom you will inspire. I aspire to continue to give back & reflect a wonderful person. There is a difference between Reflection & Image.

Xxxx,

S

Congratulations Serena. All the best for Doha, and I am really looking forward to seeing you play again at the Season Ending Championships in Doha (to see the best 8 players), I would love it if the championships were in London, but nevermind, perhaps the WTA will bring them to London, especially if it's at Wimbledon, on grass, where both Venus and yourself shine. Anyway fingers crossed for you, and keep your head up and off course don't forget to relax and enjoy the tennis.

Congratulations Serena, on your selection for The Doha 21st Century Leaders Award for your humanitarian work outside of tennis. And on the opening of your school named after you, Serena Williams Secondary School. We look forward to the opening of your second school next year as well. A lot of people only think they know a person, because of what they see in the camera. I am proud of you for clearing up the type of person you are "outside of the lens." Education. , , knowledge is definately the key to a having a successful life. What one doesn't know can hurt them. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Congratulations, Serena, I am glad you are getting the recognition you deserve. I wish the very best for you, and success for all your goals. Through your schools you are changing the live of countless people by providing the means to give people the skills to make a difference for Africa; through your tennis you are inspiring many others, my self included, to live their dreams; and through your memorable moments you are entertaining us all. Don't change a thing, keep on being Serena! Luv you. ♥ ♥ ♥

Congratulations Serena on the Doha 21st Century Award. It's so great for you to get renegotiation for your work off the court with your foundation & the opening of your school in Africa. Good luck in Doha.

Comment by : Monika Shelton Monday, October 26, 2009

Congratulations Serena! Of course, the media and other tennis community haters will not acknowledge your positive, compassionate, and generous hard work that you have been doing for years. They will only broadcast misconstruing, negative information about you- keeping the truth hid from your fans as well as others. You obviously have a HEART OF GOLD and care dearly not only about your fans but others who are suffering. I have a lot of respect for you as a strong black woman. NOW GO KICK EVERYBODY A** IN DOHA (EXCEPT VENUS, that is a little more delicate situation).

Comment by : Ashley Crossland Monday, October 26, 2009

Congrats Serena for being honored u deserve it, every word you wrote is the TRUTH........ Keep up the good work the kids need it good luck in DOHA....

Comment by : Angela Barr Monday, October 26, 2009

Serena, you are so amazing. When good people like you understand how the world operates, and do something about it, then the scent of your presence is smelled every where. Words can not express your humanity works for the poor. Helping others and giving back is what makes you and quiet your enemies. The key to life is education through the eyes of GOD. Hope you and Venus do very well in Doha.

Serena, I did some research on Reflection and Image. I really love the way the FS put it. Although this written about those who would rule with Jesus in heaven, this can also relate to faithful ones who have the hope of living on a paradise earth. During their earthly life, they are priviledged to "reflect like mirrors the glory of Jehovah" that shines to them from God's Son, being progressively transformed into the image conveyed by that glory reflecting Son. (2 Cor. 3:18; 4:6) God thereby creates in them a new personality, one that is a reflection, or image of his own devine qualities. Ephesians 4:24; Col 3:10. I must say I had a time in clarifying this in my mind, until I read this point, which I believe is what you are saying totally. IMPROPER USE OF IMAGES. WHEREAS HUMANS ARE TO IMITATE AND ENDEAVOR TO MIRROR THE QUALITIES OF THEIR HEAVENLY FATHER AND MODEL THEIR LIVES AFTER HIS SON, THE VENERATION OF PHYSICAL IMAGES IN WORSHIP IS CONSISTENTLY CONDEMNED THROUGHOUT THE SCRIPTURES. GOD'S DESTESTATION OF SUCH PRACTICE WAS CLEARLY EXPRESSED IN THE LAW GIVEN TO ISRAEL. NOT ONLY CARVED IMAGES, BUT THE MAKING OF A "FORM" OF ANYTHING IN HEAVEN OR ON THE EARTH, OR IN THE SEA AS AN OBJECT OF WORSHIP WAS PROHITED. Ex 20:4,5; Lev. 26:1; Isa 42:8. I and your true fans can fully appreciate where you're coming from Serena. Thank you for me. Why? I defend you when there is a basis for it. I've observed you and Vee since you were small kids. Actually I've observed most of your family. Don't want nothing from you all, but to meet you some day. I was told by someone that I would regret speaking (writing) in your defense. I can't leave, not yet. The holy spirit won't allow me to. And until it does, I will continue to try to minister to you.

I am sure that you inspire the young people to stride in your foot prints. Hello Serena, just want to let you know to keep it up. Education really is the key. If a person never becomes a famous actor or athelic, they should always be able to turn back to their education and hopefully it'll be enough to pull them all the way though. So continue to do what you do. Good job!
