What I loved the most is how excited the youth were. I met a boy and girl who were so pumped. I had an opportunity to talk with them and it was exciting for me to see how excited they were about you. Hi Serena, I'm so proud of you and your sister Venus. The first time I saw you was the day you won your first major event. I did not even watch tennis at that time, but I was at a picnic with the choir and after seeing you and Venus, I have been hooked. I get so emotional when the two of you play. I cannot stand to watch eather of you loose. If anyone would ask me if I had one dream that I would like to come true before I die, I would have to say it would be to meet your mom and sit with her while you and Venus are playing. I'm a mothe of four son's and nine grandchildren. At age 64. I work two jobs and take care of my mom, she will be 89 this December. I work all year at a high school and never take a real vacaation. You two are in my prayes always I am an African female living in California and I can not tell you how much I am inspired by you two. You two are the epitome of what success can be for the Black Woman. I think you are the most influential Black female role models to young Black females in this world that is becoming incresingly hostile to them. I see your struggles on the circuit and my heart breaks everytime, yet you still get up and do your best and win. All this in the light of the fact that you are under appreciated at home. Some of us see that and get it. I can not tell you to stay strong and persevere, you already know how to do that and many of us watch you to learn from you. I have never had personal heroes in my life until you two came along. And I am abit older than you two so that says alot. Anyway I have said to much.
